Bellator Newcastle Occurs Saturday, February 9 at Utilita Arena at Newcastle on Tyne, United Kingdom.
The offshore sportsbooks lately opened up the complete odds for the main card, and here they are.
Bellator Newcastle Odds
Patricky Pitbull -510

Aaron Chalmers -275
Corey Browning +195
Terry Brazier -530
Chris Bungard +350
Fabian Edwards -380
Lee Chadwick +280
And here are my first ideas on the Bellator Newcastle introductory lines:
Like many Bellator cards, this one is filled with big favorites. The majority of them need to win, including Pitbull at the main event against Scope. The big different here is obviously the expertise and degree of competition faced. Pitbull has been among the best lightweights in Bellator for years (and probably among the most underrated lightweights in the game ) while Scope is a Bellator newcomer who has not fought anyone of note, save to get a split decision win over former UFC fighter Mickel Lebout in his final bout. Scope has actually been involved in the sport as a teenager, however, has never really made it big, whilst Pitbull is still one of the best lightweights in Bellator. I expect Pitbull to get his hands raised and he will be a popular parlay piece amongst bettors.
I am not entirely sold on Chalmers and I wouldn’t be surprised when Browning pulled off another upset. Chalmers has four first-round finishes, but the former reality TV star in England has been receiving simple matchups by the matchmakers. Browning was not supposed to be aggressive against Baby Slice within his Bellator introduction, but he ended up completing Kevin Ferguson Jr. by knockout in one of the greatest upsets of 2018 in MMA. I believe Browning is probably a bit better than most of us believe he is, and that I would not be surprised at all if he’s the angry here. So far as I’m concerned, this can be a dog-or-pass circumstance.
Brazier is making his Bellator using a whole lot of hype as an former BAMMA champion. He has won his last nine fights and hasn’t tasted defeat as a 2015 knockout loss which was his sole livelihood defeat. Bungard has a nice amount of experience about the European regional circuit and is a decent gatekeeper type of fighter, but that is obviously Bellator trying to fit up Brazier with a guy who he can conquer in his promotional debut. Like Pitbull, I anticipate Brazier to win this fight handily and expect him to be a favorite parlay piece too.
Much like Pitbull and Brazier, Edwards seems like he’ll be a favorite chalk bit too. The brother of the UFC’s Leon is only 5-0 and he’s only 25, meaning he has a bright MMA career before him. Chadwick is a veteran of 40 battles and has fought a lot of England’s top fighters, but he’s been finished twice, including four knockout losses, and this looks like another struggle where the heavy favorite should glow. I’d definitely keep your eye out for the Edwards inside the space props, but he is another guy to think about putting into a Bellator chalk parlay.
